Provenance: Originally from the collection of Robert Anthoine, a longtime attorney for the Aperture Foundation, and later the incorporator and attorney for the Paul Strand Foundation. Mr. Anthoine acquired this photograph directly from Hazel Strand.  Signed provenance letter accompanies print.
This piece represents one of the earliest examples of Modernist Photography showing the transition from Pictorialism into Modernism and fully embracing photographic vision to produce abstraction.
